Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Kerrville VA Medical Center seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for the Kerrville Community Living Center.

The ANM provides clinical leadership, supervises staff, and ensures 24/7 operations with emphasis on high-quality patient care and efficient unit management. Responsibilities include directing orientation, coordinating resources, and partnering with the interdisciplinary team to advance evidence-based practices while ensuring regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• English language proficiency for direct patient care and documentation.
• Graduate of an approved nursing program with valid state licensure.
• Preferred BSN or higher; leadership and supervisory experience beneficial.
• Ability to obtain and maintain licensure in the United States.
• Experience in long-term care and administrative functions is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nurse Manager with unit supervision and 24/7 operations.
• Assist in staffing, orientation, training, and staff development.
• Provide clinical leadership and ensure evidence-based care delivery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Cover direct patient care as needed and maintain unit workflows.
