Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, Florida, seeks a Registered Nurse for night shift (7:00 pm–7:00 am) to join our full-time team. You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, educate families, and collaborate with medical staff to deliver safe, coordinated care.

Required: Associate Degree in Nursing, Florida RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, 1+ year ER experience preferred; fluent English, strong communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Assess physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and revise individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and self-care.

Job Description:

Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shift: Nights, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am (with weekend rotation)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• Ability to work as a Team player within a unit
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills
• EKG competency
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Associate of Science degree in Nursing
• Current State of Florida or Multistate licensure as a Registered Nurse
• One (1) or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse (Emergency Room experience preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Pay Range: $34.32 - $63.84
