Job summary

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA, is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to lead clinical and operational activities on the assigned shift, using the nursing process to ensure high-quality patient care.

Reporting to the unit director, the ANM will support planning, organizing, directing and evaluating services, mentor caregivers, enforce standards, and collaborate with leadership to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and RN license required; BSN encouraged if not yet held but not required for employment.
  • Washington RN license required at hire; BLS certification at hire (American Heart Association).

Description

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional Registered Nurse reporting to the unit director/manager who utilizes the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within assigned shift. The ANM is responsible for supporting the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit and providing managerial presence for all shifts. The ANM is responsible for managing clinical and non-clinical caregivers and providing input to the director/manager for evaluation purposes related to performance. Duties include but not limited to compliance to professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements; implementing and monitoring compliance to policies, processes and clinical priorities, coaching, mentoring and collaborating to deliver quality health care to patients.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree; graduate from a School of Nursing (BS or BSN). Registered Nurses employed in this role prior to November 1, 2024, are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree, but obtaining the degree is not a condition of employment
  • Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association
