Overview

Assistant Nurse Manager, Periop- Main OR- University Hospital is a leadership role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with responsibilities for assisting the Nurse Manager in planning, directing and evaluating unit activities in the perioperative area.

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the Nurse Manager, assume total responsibility on a 24-hour basis.
• Collaborate with the Perioperative Director, Support Service Managers, Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, and Information Associate to evaluate patient flow in perioperative areas, identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot, and implement changes.
• Coordinate staff orientation and education with the Perioperative Nurse Educator.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• License to practice professional nursing in the state of Ohio.
• Experience in an acute care setting.
