Location: San Jose, CA, US

Compensation: $186,000 – $217,900 annually

Bonus: Sign-on bonus of 10% of salary; Annual bonus potential of up to 7.5% of salary.

Schedule: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM, Monday - Friday; Administrative call rotated every 8 weeks.

Position Overview

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for the Operating Room (OR) is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations, ensuring quality standards, and managing a team of 20 – 60 employees. This leadership role focuses on optimizing patient care delivery, enforcing compliance with regulations, and fostering a positive work environment. The ANM will facilitate staff development and provide extraordinary support to the nursing staff while upholding the hospital's high standards of care.

• Manage the day-to-day clinical operations of the OR unit, ensuring adherence to practice standards.
• Supervise staffing, payroll, budgets, and fiscal management to maintain operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, along with departmental policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement strategies for staff development and performance improvement.
• Monitor the quality of patient care and service utilization while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with external healthcare providers to enhance coordinated care for patients.
• Investigate and resolve patient and family concerns, ensuring satisfaction and quality standards.
• Participate in administrative calls, rotating every 8 weeks, to support department needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an OR required
• At least 2 years in a leadership role (e.g., charge nurse, preceptor, or quality improvement champion) preferred
• High school diploma or GED & Graduate of an accredited nursing school required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Knowledge of quality improvement, clinical workflows, staffing, budgeting, and regulatory standards (e.g., Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission)
