An established healthcare system is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Emergency Room, a role pivotal in enhancing patient care and operational efficiency. My client is a nationally renowned healthcare system featuring four hospitals, hundreds of award-winning physicians, breakthrough technology, and life-changing medical research. My client 150+bed hospital which emphasizes community medicine while staffing some of Chicago land’s top medical professionals (many of whom live just steps away).
Recently, they completed a $40 million renovation that expanded it 1/3 in size, including 24 new private patient rooms, a same-day surgery area, new nurse-designed intensive-care unit, emergency room expansion, and a new lobby complete with fireplace and fountain.
Due to expansion and great volumes, they have created a new position ANM Emergency Room.
The primary purpose of this job is to assist the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) in providing leadership and 24-hour accountability for the patient care delivered on their assigned unit. The assistant clinical nurse manager (ACNM) is responsible and accountable for over-seeing the operations and patient flow on his/her unit. S/he supervises and coordinates the activities of the nursing unit in conjunction with the CNM. S/he will collaborate with other hospital services, medical staff, and administration to ensure that quality patient care is delivered and desired outcomes are measured and obtained. The assistant clinical nurse manager (ACNM) supports the CNM in all performance management of employees. The assistant clinical manager (ACNM) in collaboration with the CNM drives all clinical, quality and loyalty outcomes. Determines staffing based on patient acuity, volume and workflow and assumes direct care responsibility as needed.
