Job summary

University of Iowa Health Care seeks an experienced nurse leader to join our team as Assistant Nurse Manager for the Adult Short Stay Unit (LLJCP). This 100% full-time role interfaces with administrative and clinical staff to enhance care delivery and implement daily operations for the unit.

The position focuses on a 24–48 hour observation/recovery patient population, requiring collaboration with multiple services and effective staff leadership.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
• Current Iowa nursing license by date of hire.
• 1+ year nursing leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess nursing care requirements for patient population.
• Develop, implement and evaluate standards of care.
• Coordinate unit-based quality and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on care planning.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff.
