Job summary

Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa, GA, seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to join our nursing leadership team and provide clinical and operational leadership for the assigned department.

The role requires a registered nurse with an ADN (BSN preferred), 3–5 years in acute care, and 1–2 years of leadership experience. The position includes 24/7 unit accountability with some weekends and after-hours coverage.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Georgia
• ADN required; BSN preferred
• 3–5 years in an acute care setting
• 1–2 years of clinical leadership experience preferred
• ED experience preferred for ED assignments

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership for the assigned department
• Coordinate staff efforts and supervise clinical care
• Serve as primary leader in the absence of the Nurse Manager
• Cover for Nurse Manager during meetings/vacations
• Lead in Emergency Department settings when applicable
• Participate in staff scheduling and performance evaluations
• Support department goals, policies, and procedures
• Ensure staffing coverage and patient safety across shifts
• Engage in quality improvement and risk management activities
• Communicate effectively with physicians, leaders, and staff
