The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for the Surgical Specialty Clinics is a registered professional nurse who serves as an assistant with line authority to the Surgical Specialty Clinics Nurse Manager located in Gainesville, FL, providing leadership, supervision, and direction to nursing staff.
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age-specific components. Functions or scope of assigned duties include, but are not limited to: Develops and manages collaborative partnerships with nursing, physicians, and other clinicians.
Serves as a mentor for less experienced nurses, other RNs in expanded roles, and/or students. Supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operation of their designated units. Engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. Promotes an inclusive workplace valuing diversity to achieve the organization's vision and mission. Directs and organizes patient flow in assigned area. Maintains unit schedule, grants leave for staff, and coordinates the provision of care. Assists staff to fulfill performance expectations.
Leads interdisciplinary problem-solving at the area and /or program level.
