SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Mortgage Specialist(s) and the supervision of the Director of Real Estate Lending, and in compliance with established policies and procedures, performing a range of support and services with special dedication attributed to the mortgage lending functions by performing the following duties.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to members to positively promote our products and services.



  • 1. Assist Mortgage Specialists with the processing of secondary market mortgage loans, in accordance with established policies and procedures with special consideration to CFPB/TRID/HMDA guidelines for real estate lending and reporting. Including; issuing initial disclosures either electronically or via mail within established regulatory timelines, and obtaining necessary items to complete the files, such as appraisals, title searches, flood certs, insurance, payoffs and VOEs.

  • 2. Daily monitoring and review of any new real estate loan inquiries or requests received via branch, online or other method of submission, for accuracy and completeness, within a timely fashion.

  • 3. Monitoring current loan pipeline, with focus on moving initial loans through the milestones needed to complete the request, following up on deficient items needed to complete the request within a timely fashion, and prepares files for final underwriting review.

  • 4. Maintains communication with Mortgage Specialists and applicants during the loan process, providing updates, and acting as a liaison between the applicants and Mortgage Specialists

  • 5. Provides quality member service throughout the loan process, including follow up contact with applicants regarding any documents needed to finalize their request, such as income, assets, insurance, etc.

  • 6. Handles scheduling for inside and outside appointments for Loan Originator(s)

  • 7. Maintains current knowledge and compliance with secondary market and regulatory guidelines and requirements as well as all other bank policies, procedures and regulations.

  • 8. Keeps abreast of regulatory and competitive developments within the area of real estate lending.

  • 9. Assist with other areas of the Mortgage Department, as needed, such as, interviewing, processing, closing, post-closing, and servicing functions, and any other duties within the department as needed

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Incumbent generally establishes own work plan and priorities, using and/or modifying established procedures, to assure timely completion of assigned work in conformance with established departmental policies and standards; problems lacking clear precedent are usually reviewed with supervisor prior to taking action.

Work involves contacts with personnel of other departments within the organization as well as with general public, representatives of other organizations, vendors, etc., where considerable discretion, resourcefulness, and persuasiveness is required to achieve desired objectives.



COMPUTER SKILLS

The ability to understand more advance computer skills and be proficient in the intermediate knowledge


of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and computer software pertinent to the position.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
