Job summary

Biltmore in Asheville, NC is hiring an Assistant Merchandiser to support the Retail Merchandising team. You will manage reorders, create item files, issue purchase orders, and monitor stock to ensure a balanced assortment.

Collaborate with E-commerce and Merchandising teams on online product assortment; assist with market shows and sales analysis; travel may be required. Strong negotiation, data analysis, and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Two- or four-year degree preferred; additional training helpful.
• Three+ years retail experience; upscale setting preferred.
• Ability to analyze data in supplier proposals; strong negotiation & math skills.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; learn Biltmore systems and inventory.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; builds cross-company relationships.
• Resourceful with good judgment, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Order merchandise with Retail Merchandiser and maintain item files.
• Coordinate reorders, manage stock levels, and assist open-to-buy.
• Support vendor setup, pricing changes, and PO entry/cancellations.
• Analyze weekly/monthly data; assist with market selections and assortment.
• Collaborate with E-commerce, Visual, and Inventory Control on assortment.
• Travel to buying shows and support leadership and departments.
