Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining assortment with Senior Merchandiser.
  • Generate and distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports.
  • Analyze current business trends and provide market research.
  • Prepare documents for Product Lifecycle meetings and related reviews.
  • Manage assortment sheets, receipts, and sample accuracy; timely handoff.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional teams and make recommendations.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Sourcing, and Marketing on promotions.
  • Support timely flow of deliveries and inventory planning.

Job description

The Assistant Merchandiser supports the execution of departmental strategies and business objectives; is responsible for assisting throughout the Product Life Cycle process; and supports the department with any necessary tactical responsibilities.

  • Achieve/exceed financial plan by supporting Senior Merchandiser in all facets of managing a successful
  • department.
  • Generate and distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports.
  • Provide analysis and understanding of current business trends.
  • Provide applicable historical information and market research.
  • Manage daily Merchandising responsibilities, including accurately building, editing and maintaining
  • assortment sheets; reconciling and updating receipts; maintaining sample accuracy and handoff;
  • communicating necessary information to Cross-Functional team in a timely manner.
  • Prepare all necessary documents and resources for major ProductLifecycle Meetings, including Hindsight,
  • Conduct research on competitive set including pricing, style, and key messaging information.
  • Demonstrate awareness of retail landscape.
  • Support lead Merchandiser in building assortment.
  • Participate on Cross-Functional team and make relevant recommendations to drive results.
  • Build relationships with Cross-Functional partners and participate as a solution-oriented team member,
  • contributing to a high performing team.
  • Partner with Planning to execute promotional strategies to effectively manage sales, gross margin, and
  • Partner with Sourcing to secure timely flow of delivery.
  • Partner with Marketing to deliver accurate mailer/PR look book information.

You’ll bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in fashion-related major.
  • 1 year of related experience in Merchandising, or relevant Internships.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of retail financial measurements.
  • Strong fashion sense, with a sense of brand and client needs.
  • Broad-based business acumen with the potential to grow to the Merchant level.
  • Ability to be an active listener and take direction.
  • Strong self-management and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented, with excellent follow-through skills.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
  • Excellent organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

The wage range for this position is $50,000 to $54,000. Successful candidates’ wage rates will be determined based on their individual qualifications for the position. *
