Job summary

Fairleigh Dickinson University is seeking an Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach on the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, NJ. The role reports to the Head Coach and supports organizational duties, training plan development, and skill development for student-athletes.

The candidate will also assist in recruitment within NCAA guidelines, travel as needed, and maintain compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Coaching experience at collegiate or high school level preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of coaching experience.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid/CPR cert. or be able to obtain within 90 days; Red Cross cert. preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; MVC background check.
• Willing to travel and work flexible hours including nights/weekends.
• Background check required.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach reports tothe Head Coach. Responsibilities include: assisting withorganizational duties and the development of training and practiceschedules; teaching, evaluating and refining sport specific skilldevelopment for student-athletes; and recruitment of qualifiedstudent-athletes within university and NCAA guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

• 1. Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 2. Prior experience coaching Men’s and Women’s Track and Field atthe collegiate or high school level and/or competitive personalplaying experience.
• 3. Minimum of 2 years of Mens’s and Women’s Track and Fieldcoaching experience.
• 4. Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations a plus.
• 5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• 6. Must have a First Aid and CPR certification or obtain themduring the 90 day Introductory Period. National Red CrossCertification preferred.
• 7. Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record inaccordance with the university’s Motor Vehicle policy. A MVC checkwill be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemedappropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be requiredto sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.
• 8. Must be willing to travel and be available to work flexiblehours including nights and weekends as required.
• 9. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizingthe background check and produce a Social Security Card.
