Job summary

Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY is hiring an Assistant Men’s & Women’s Squash Coach (40 week) for a part-time, non-benefit eligible role. Hours include weekends, holidays, early mornings, and late evenings; weeks are distributed by agreement with the supervisor.

You will assist with practice/game preparation, on-court coaching, film analysis, recruitment visits, team activities, and equipment/travel logistics.

Qualifications

• Coaching or playing experience at the collegiate, high school, or club level.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of constituents.
• A valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Successful result of a background check.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred and can be obtained through Vassar College as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with preparation for and execution of practice and game plans, on-court instruction for practices and games, development of game strategies and scouting.
• Support player and team development including film analysis, analytics, academic monitoring, and team activities.
• Coordinate recruitment correspondence and on-campus visits.
• Organize team activities including alumni engagement, fundraising, and community-service events.
• Manage equipment and reconcile equipment expenses; arrange team travel and reconcile travel expenses.
