Department Summary

The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. The department has approximately 290 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600,000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Men's Basketball Coach. Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University of Oregon, Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
  • Minimum ten years of American Division I collegiate, NBA or NBA "G League" coaching experience.
  • Proven experience of successful development of NBA athletes.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • High motivation with a capacity for hard work within the context of an intensely goal-oriented environment.
  • Capacity to interact comfortably with those individuals and constituency groups (student-athletes, alumni, coaches, parents, etc.) crucial to the advancement of the University of Oregon Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Candidates with experience serving the needs of diverse populations are strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and interpretations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Collegiate head coaching experience
  • NBA or NBA "G League" head coaching experience.
  • Collegiate recruiting experience.
