Job summary

The Bell Company is seeking a Mechanical Assistant Project Manager to join our East Coast team, with the regional office in Glen Allen, VA and an initial assignment in Richmond. You will manage mechanical projects for hospitals, laboratories, and large industrial/institutional facilities, applying your experience to schedules, cost control, procurement, and quality/safety oversight.

Qualifications

• Experience with self-perform mechanical contracting.
• AT LEAST 3 years' experience in heavy industrial and institutional construction.
• Background in mechanical process piping and advanced plumbing systems.
• Experience with schedules, cost control, procurement, and quality/safety during project execution.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Suite and project controls software.
• 4-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in industrial and institutional mechanical construction.

Responsibilities

• Support Mechanical Assistant Project Manager duties on hospitals, laboratories, and large industrial/institutional projects.
• Manage schedules, cost control, procurement, and quality/safety oversight.
• Coordinate subcontractors and submittal processes to ensure on-time completion.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting across project controls tools.

PAY RANGE:

$70-$95k / YEAR FOR MECHANICAL ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

Job Specific Requirements:

• Experience must be with a self-perform Mechanical contractor.
• The candidate must have AT LEAST 3 years' experience in Heavy Industrial and Institutional Construction with a background in mechanical process piping and advanced plumbing systems.
• Must have demonstrated exposure and experience with management controls (i.e., schedules, cost control, procurement and quality/safety) facilitated during project execution.
• Must have experience with detailed submittal processes
• Must have problem solving skills and be completely familiar with mechanical and plumbing system installation and operation.
• Must have excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Suite as well as project controls and organizing software
• 4 year degree in an Engineering discipline or Construction Management is required and Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in industrial and institutional mechanical construction.
