Overview

St. Johns Golf and Country Club, located in St. Augustine, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part-Time Assistant Mechanic. This position is part of Troon, a global leader in golf and community management.

Location: 205 St Johns Golf Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32092, USA

Pay

Compensation is based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Changing oil in equipment
  • Repairing 2‑cycle engines on weed eaters
  • Overhauls and repairs of maintenance vehicles, mowing equipment, and other power equipment
  • Lubricating and servicing all equipment
  • Inspecting equipment for operating deficiencies and making routine adjustments where necessary
  • Maintaining an up‑to‑date understanding of hydraulic systems, repairs, and their components
  • Inspecting, changing, and repairing tires
  • Assisting in controlling tool access and use by maintenance staff
  • Cleansing working areas after repair work is completed
  • Assisting in fabrication, body repair, and painting
  • Adjusting cutting units on mowing equipment
  • After equipment servicing, assisting the maintenance crew and possibly operating mowing equipment
  • Assisting in training maintenance staff on the proper care and upkeep of golf course equipment
  • May be called upon to operate or be trained to operate various types of maintenance equipment
  • Incorporating safe work practices in job performance
  • Performing other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Certificate from a college or technical school
  • At least two years of experience with small engine repairs and maintenance
  • Valid driver's license
Additional Qualifications
  • Quick learner able to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Experience working on a golf course and troubleshooting large equipment repair and grinding mower reels
