PURPOSE/SCOPE:

The Assistant Materials Manager is part of the Materials Management plant team responsible for procurement of raw materials, production planning, inventory control, and shipping teams in Tennant North America plants. The role involves leading and completing the monthly Sales and Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP), collaborating with Business Unit, Global Supply, Operations, and Finance leadership to ensure SIOP cycle completion. This individual will also manage and lead our Production Planning and Inventory Control Teams and coordinate Materials Continuous Improvement initiatives.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Compile SIOP monthly data and coordinate with Business Unit, Global Supply, Operations, and Finance for alignment on future production plans.
2. Report on SIOP and prepare executive SIOP presentations.
3. Manage inventory level reporting and forecasting, and drive actions for optimal inventory levels.
4. Lead process improvements and continuous improvement projects within the Materials department.
5. Maintain knowledge of all materials department functions and lead training efforts.
6. Lead and manage the Materials team.
7. Assist in developing metrics and drive accountability.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent of 5 years experience in Materials Management, Operations, or Supply Chain.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma certification and/or 3 years of experience in Continuous Improvement projects.
• Preferred experience in Sales and Operations Planning.
• Supervisory and/or management experience required.
• Experience with SAP required.

Competitive base salary: $83,500 - $125,100 annually, commensurate with experience. Total compensation includes benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), profit sharing, disability, life insurance, paid time off, and voluntary benefits.
