Purpose/Scope

The Assistant Materials Manager is part of the Materials Management plant team responsible for procurement of raw materials, production planning, inventory control, and shipping teams in Tennant North America plants. This role leads and completes the monthly Sales and Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP), collaborating with Business Unit, Global Supply, Operations, and Finance leadership to ensure SIOP cycle completion. The individual will manage and lead our Production Planning and Inventory Control Teams and coordinate Materials Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  1. Compile SIOP monthly data and work with stakeholders to align and reach consensus on future production plans.
  2. Report on SIOP and prepare executive SIOP decks.
  3. Manage inventory levels, forecasts, and drive actions for optimal inventory management.
  4. Lead process improvement initiatives within the Materials department.
  5. Maintain knowledge of departmental functions and lead training efforts.
  6. Manage and lead the Materials team.
  7. Assist in developing metrics and ensure accountability.
Required Experience & Education
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent of 5 years experience in Materials Management, Operations, or Supply Chain.
  2. Lean and/or Six Sigma certification or 3 years of experience in Continuous Improvement projects.
  3. Preferred experience in Sales and Operations Planning.
  4. Supervisory or management experience required.
  5. Experience with SAP required.
