Job summary

SMS Infocomm in Grapevine, Texas, is seeking a Material Planner Assistant to create and track manufacturer orders, prioritize customer backorders, and validate invoices. Summary

Material Planner Assistant responsibilities include creating and tracking manufacturer orders based on material planner/analyst requests. The position works with the warehouse team to prioritize and complete escalated customer backorders, and to review and resolve invoice discrepancies before payment is scheduled.

Material Planner Assistant responsibilities include creating and tracking manufacturer orders based on material planner/analyst requests. The position works with the warehouse team to prioritize and complete escalated customer backorders, and to review and resolve invoice discrepancies before payment is scheduled.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities – 90% of job.

  • Create manufacturer orders and transfer tickets for each manufacturing operation needed to produce the product.
  • Meet with Production Control to determine the proper sequencing/priority of manufacturing operations.
  • Review and validate invoices from vendors before bringing them to Finance department.
  • Work with Buying team to resolve discrepancies on PO/SO/Invoices.

Warehouse Efficiencies – 5% of job.

  • Builds and maintains a positive work environment supported by open feedback and two‑way communication at all levels.
  • Keeps warehouse organized and clean at all times.

Team Building/Leadership – 5% of job.

  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work environment while supporting the company’s culture.
  • Responsible for fostering a healthy and safe work environment, focusing on the well‑being of all associates.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain management.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in manufacturing operations, SIOP, sourcing and material management.

Working Conditions

Must tolerate moderate to high noise levels in a warehouse environment. Working conditions include office and outside environmental conditions, hot in the summer, cold in the winter. Individuals may need to walk for an extended period, lift objects up to 25 pounds, reach overhead, bend or stoop below the waist, and perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movements.
