Finovate Consulting in India is seeking an Accountant (Assistant Manager / Team Lead) for a night shift with WFH flexibility. The role leads a accounting team, ensures SOP compliance, and coordinates with the US Controller on pre-review handovers.

The candidate will oversee tactical checks, enforce processes, and maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders while supporting continuous process improvements.

Qualificações

• 5+ years in accounting with 2-3 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
• Bachelor's in accounting/finance; CA/CPA is a plus.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero and NetSuite.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and US accounting practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and supervise accounting tasks with SOP compliance.
• Perform tactical accountancy spot-checks and ensure data completeness.
• Enforce process and compliance, manage folders and task updates.
• Coordinate with US Controller and communicate with clients.
• Ensure readiness before handover to US Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountant - Primary Role:

Ensure completeness, SOP compliance, structural accuracy, and communicate flow.

ACCOUNTANT does not perform deep GAAP review.

ACCOUNTANT performs tactical Accountancy quality & process enforcement.

A. Tactical Accountancy Spot-Check Review

ACCOUNTANT verifies:

• Payees added to all transactions
• Correct vendor/customer applied
• Classes/locations populated
• All supporting documents attached
• Excel files attached to JEs
• No unexplained balances in AR/AP
• No negative inventory
• No unreconciled differences above tolerance
• All schedules completed
• All checklists filled
• Opening balances for each month match closing balances
• Merchant sales are imported fully

B. Process & Compliance Enforcement

ACCOUNTANT ensures:

• Checklist for Document Generations & Tasks are completed.
• Proper folder structure
• Proper file naming convention
• Workpapers are present in the correct Folders
• ClickUp tasks are updated daily
• Missive emails are acknowledged the same day
• Hubstaff tracking within expected limits
• All SOP steps followed by bookkeepers
• No skipped or partially completed tasks
• No missing client documents

If SOP compliance fails ACCOUNTANT is responsible.

C. Communication

• Acknowledge all client emails same day
• Handle non-financial operational queries
• Forward accounting/financial questions to US Controller
• Maintain communication clarity between BookKeeper US Controller Client
• Brief US Controller before all review meetings

D. Definition of Ready (Before Sending to US Controller)

File is READY only if:

1. All workpapers complete
2. SOPs fully followed
3. No missing data or schedules
4. No unexplained variances
5. ACCOUNTANT spot-check review completed

Once these conditions are met Handover to US Controller.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Experience: 5+ years in accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CPA) are a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and NetSuite.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and US accounting practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders.
• Leadership qualities with a proven ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial systems.
• Analytical mindset with a solution-oriented approach to challenges.
