Job summary

GPM Investments' Shore Stop store in Wilmington is seeking an Assistant Manager for Store 297. You will support daily operations, supervise cash handling, and help lead a busy team across day, swing, and night shifts.

Open availability, strong customer service, safety certification, and the ability to hire/train staff are essential; you’ll grow into leadership while ensuring store standards and excellent service.

Qualifications

• Open availability to work weekends, holidays and likely second/third shifts.
• Reliable transportation with valid license, vehicle and proof of insurance.
• Physically able to perform cleaning/restroom tasks and maintenance outside areas.
• Minimum age 21+ years old.
• Proficient in English with basic math skills.
• Willing to learn and adapt to store procedures.
• Food Safety Certification held or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register with speed, accuracy and a positive attitude.
• Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
• Assist with hiring, training and leading a high-performing team.
• Act as manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering and merchandising to keep stock full.
• Maintain a clean store including restrooms, trash areas and pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules for full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits and oversee store finances.
• Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
• Other duties as assigned
