Job summary

Vail Resorts in Crested Butte, CO is seeking an Assistant Manager for Ski & Ride School to oversee daily instruction, curriculum development, scheduling, and class assignments, providing leadership and support to instructors.

The role requires PSIA/AASI certification and 1–3 years of ski/snowboard teaching plus at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity; a High School Diploma is required and a Bachelor's is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years ski/snowboard teaching experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current PSIA/AASI certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily instruction at Ski & Ride School including curriculum development, scheduling, and class assignments.
  • Assist with administrative duties including hiring, scheduling, training, payroll, and inventory control.
  • Monitor instructor performance and provide feedback and direction as needed.
  • Ensure safety policies and laws are followed; coordinate with other departments.

  • Starting Wage: $57,784.00 -$65,433.00

Job Responsibilities :
  • Oversee daily instruction at Ski and Ride School including curriculum development, scheduling, and assigning classes providing support with instruction as needed
  • Assist with administrative duties including hiring, scheduling, training, payroll, managing equipment inventory and reporting on guest feedback
  • Monitor and document instructor performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, including recognition, correction action, or escalation if necessary
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Adhere to all safety related programs including policy training and incident reporting
  • Coordinate with other management, departments, and third-party organizations as needed
  • Participate in leadership forums providing feedback and input on school operations, training, and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • Current PSIA/AASI or equivalent certification required
  • 1-3 years ski/snowboard instructor experience and 1 year of supervisory experience required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Able to meet the physical demands of ski and ride training and drills
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English

The expected pay range is$57,784.00 -$65,433.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
