Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc. in Grand Haven, MI, is seeking an Assistant Manager – Shipping to lead logistics, warehousing and transportation for our plant supply chain. You will coordinate daily shipping activities, manage a team and ensure timely deliveries while meeting safety standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field, supervisory experience in pick/pack/ship, and strong Excel/Word skills. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, SCM, or Business Administration preferred.
• Two years of supervisory experience in a pick/pack/ship environment.
• Fluency in Microsoft Excel & Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Spanish highly desired but not required.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move 30 pounds.
• Flexible work schedule during peak seasons to accommodate volume.

Responsabilidades

• Support the management of logistics, warehousing, transportation and customer services.
• Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
• Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
• Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
• Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments.
• Supervise, coach and train shipping department workforce.
• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
• Comply with laws, regulations and OSHA requirements regarding MHE.
• Maintain company fleet vehicles.
• Assist in managing custodial services for the business.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or in Business Administration preferred.
• Two years of supervisory experience in a pick/pack/ship environment.
• Fluency in Microsoft Excel & Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Spanish highly desired but not required
• Ability to work in both warehouse and greenhouse environments.
• Must possess the ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move 30 pounds.
• Flexible work schedule during peak seasons to accommodate volume.

Performance Requirements:

• Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations (including but not limited to, Self and Management reviews).
• This position is expected to average 45 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate business and operational needs, as well as periodic special projects.

Pay:starting at $45,000 per year, dependent upon experience. Amount is not inclusive of total compensation package.
