Job summary

Anne Arundel County Government seeks an Assistant Manager, Safety and Insurance in the Office of Central Services. This full-time, permanent role handles risk management, insurance coordination, loss control, and safety program development.

Responsibilities include identifying hazards, investigating incidents, coordinating self-insurance and commercial policies, maintaining property inventories, and ensuring compliance with MOSH reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, safety engineering, or related field.
• 1+ year of experience in safety, occupational risk insurance, or related field.
• Valid non-commercial Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Identify hazardous conditions and investigate injuries and accidents; develop corrective actions.
• Coordinate self-insurance funding and commercial insurance policies for County properties.
• Manage PPE and safety gear contracts and inventories.
• Perform safety inspections and ergonomic assessments; recommend practical solutions.
• Assist MOSH inspections and incidents response across County components.
• Maintain accident, injury, and loss records; ensure required reporting (BLS, MOSH).
• Support investigations and settlements of claims; ensure employees receive entitlements.
