Job summary

Chestnut Group is seeking an Assistant Manager to support Store Manager in daily operations of a busy convenience store and fuel location. You will help supervise staff, uphold customer service standards, manage schedules, and ensure accurate cash handling and pricing surveys.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to drive profitability and a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, convenience store, customer service, or shift leadership roles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Experience with cash handling and store operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in daily management of the convenience store and fuel station.
• Support store policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Assume Store Manager responsibilities when the manager is unavailable.
• Schedule, train, and manage shifts for employees.
• Provide prompt, courteous customer service and resolve concerns.
• Handle daily bookkeeping, cash handling, deposits, invoicing, and pricing surveys.
• Maintain inventory control and ensure products are stocked, rotated, and displayed.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store and fuel site.
• Monitor performance, control expenses, and maximize profitability.
• Track time and attendance for payroll processing.
• Communicate issues to store leadership and prepare reports.
• Support team and foster a positive, team-oriented environment.
• Perform essential duties of Retail Team Members when needed.
