Job summary

Eyeglass World, part of National Vision, seeks an Assistant Manager to oversee daily store operations, support and energize the team, and ensure customers receive quality eye care with a stylish shopping experience.

In this role you will drive sales, manage staffing to match store volume, coordinate with doctors, and maintain promotions and visual merchandising while ensuring Sundays are observed as a closed day.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience and supervising experience preferred.
• Proficient computer skills for daily store operations.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Strong knowledge of store operations and standards for success.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to present clear information and respond to questions.
• Strong organizational skills for planning and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Drive profit, sales and performance goals per National Vision standards.
• Monitor sales results against budgeted targets.
• Ensure all associates provide top-tier customer service.
• Maintain awareness of same-day service using Ready When Promised board.
• Communicate with GM, District Manager and Corporate Office; provide store reporting.
• Foster relationships with doctors connected to the store; act as liaison.
• Ensure promotions, advertising and visual merchandising are current.
• Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates; ensure daily tasks are completed.
• Assist GM with staffing to store volume; participate in recruitment and retention.

What would you do? - The Specifics

• Drive and achieve profit, sales and performance goals according to National Visionstandards.
• Monitor sales results against budgeted.
• Ensure all store associates achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service.
• Maintain awareness of same day service using "Ready When Promised" production board.
• Communicate with the General Manger, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with doctor(s) associated with the store and serves as liaison between doctor and store personnel.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with balancing staffing to store volume. Assist in recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
