Job summary

National Vision's Eyeglass World is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee daily store operations, coach associates, and ensure exceptional customer service and a stylish shopping experience.

As an Assistant Manager, you will lead a team across store activities, balance staffing with store volume, and collaborate with doctors to provide quality eye care alongside fashion-forward eyewear.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience; supervising preferred.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build relationships.
• Strong communication skills for management of teams.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Clear and concise information delivery to managers, staff, and customers.
• Strong organizational skills for planning and progress tracking.
• Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
• Balance staffing to store volume; assist in recruiting.

Responsibilities

• Drive and achieve profit, sales and performance goals according to National Vision standards.
• Monitor sales results against budgeted.
• Ensure all store associates deliver high level customer service.
• Maintain awareness of same-day service using Ready When Promised production board.
• Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office; provide store reporting.
• Develop and maintain relationships with doctors associated with the store; liaison between doctor and staff.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place.
• Supervise and motivate Optical/Sales Associates; ensure timely completion of daily tasks.
• Assist General Manager with staffing to store volume; assist in recruiting and retaining staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.

What would you do? - The Specifics

• Maintain awareness of same day service using “Ready When Promised” production board.
• Communicate with the General Manger, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with doctor(s) associated with the store and serves as liaison between doctor and store personnel.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with balancing staffing to store volume. Assist in recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
