Job summary

CONSOL Energy in Baltimore seeks a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee four crews responsible for installing, repairing, fabricating metal parts and tools, and ensuring equipment runs safely and reliably. You will lead maintenance planning, diagnose malfunctions, and coordinate with vendors to optimize terminal availability.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical/industrial maintenance, strong leadership, CMMS skills, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience in mechanical/industrial maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, fabrication and welding.
  • Experience with maintenance software and staff utilization.
  • TWIC credential is required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct maintenance tasks for terminal traffic and operations with contractors.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and respond to emergencies; maintain 24/7 support readiness.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and improvements.
  • Assist operations to optimize plant availability and manage annual budget.
  • Ensure compliance with labor contracts and safety standards.

Job description

In this hands-on role, you will oversee the maintenance activities of four crews responsible for installing, repairing, fabricating metal parts and tools and ensuring that all equipment and systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. Your leadership will help optimize the terminal's performance, reduce downtime, and uphold standards of safety and quality.

Target Responsibilities

  • Along with the Manager, directs employees and contractors in the performance of maintenance tasks and activities related to terminal traffic and operations. Assists in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Respond to emergent situations and handle unique situations that arise and require maintenance. Communicate the status of issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide 24/7 support and coverage to all terminal needs, including structural, electrical, fire suppression, railroads, and perimeter fencing.
  • Coordinates with vendors and multiple contractors in support of suggested terminal needs and repair improvements/enhancements.
  • Assists operations to optimize plant availability.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, while monitoring and controlling costs. Assist with annual budget
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Assists with maintenance planning for annual operations shutdown.
  • Promote a team-based culture and provide ongoing feedback, while ensuring compliance with labor contracts and agreements.
  • Able to perform all work required of the crews.
  • Must be available and respond to off hours maintenance emergencies, equipment breakdown/malfunctions and/or planned maintenance projects.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Requires 5+ years of related experience in mechanical/industrial maintenance with knowledge of safety, fabrication and welding, production, maintenance software, economics, equipment usage and staff utilization.
  • Working knowledge of repairs, preventative/predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment. Repairs and preventative/predictive maintenance to be performed in conformance with established standards.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills and knowledge of CMMS, Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
  • A strong understanding of bulk material handling systems, analytic skills and a moderate knowledge of the functional field and the company’s policies, practices, and precedents is preferred.
  • Obtain and hold a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
