Job summary

SONIC Drive-In in Texas is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in daily operations. You will train and mentor Team Members, Carhops and other staff to maintain quality food in a clean and efficient environment. You’ll also open/close the restaurant and manage staffing, inventory and costs.

The role emphasizes customer service, quick problem-solving, and adherence to SONIC policies and appearance standards while ensuring an enjoyable guest experience at every visit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry level retail management experience.
• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• General knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry or retail operations required.
• Experience running shifts without supervision.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions; ability to multi-task and successfully solve problems.
• Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC.

Responsibilities

• Assists in managing drive-in restaurant operations and training other employees to ensure quality food in a clean, safe and efficient manner.
• Directs and assigns employees to meet operational standards.
• Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties.
• Monitors staffing, inventory, and food cost; completes weekly inventory.
• Reinforces customer service mindset and ensures staff focus on guests.
• Responds promptly to guest requests and helps resolve complaints.
