Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at 72 Main St, North Reading, MA 01864-2289. The role focuses on daily activities, merchandising, payroll, scheduling, loss prevention, and staff supervision to ensure a safe, welcoming shopping experience.

You will help organize stock, manage opening/closing, and uphold company standards while fostering teamwork and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs; frequent walking, standing, stooping, and bending expected.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and related communications
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep store clean; restock bathrooms, sweep/mop floors, manage trash
• Other duties as assigned
