Assistant Manager - C-Store (Knox Abbot)

The Assistant Store Manager is an entry-level management position responsible for the day-to-day supervision of non-management associates, assigning work, focusing on store operations, coaching, developing subordinate Shift Supervisors and other associates, and performing other duties as directed by the manager. This role provides an opportunity for entry-level managers to develop management skills and exercise judgment and discretion. It is a non-exempt position reporting typically to the General Store Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise daily activities of multiple non-exempt associates.
  • Assign work tasks and activities.
  • Prepare daily orders, maintain inventory levels, and follow policies & procedures set by the Asset Protection Team.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for associates and ensure all receive basic skills training.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and all applicable health, safety, and sanitation laws.
  • Use judgment to resolve routine issues and escalate complex problems.
  • Support and coach team members to achieve business goals.
  • Provide ongoing feedback aligned with individual and business development goals.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 1 year of relevant experience in Food and Beverage or Merchandise operations, or related supervisory or entry-level management experience.
  • Strong team management, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Applegreen policies, products, and service standards.
  • Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams).
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate instructions and policies effectively.
