Job summary

Dayton Children's in Dayton, OH, seeks an Assistant Manager for Behavioral Health within the Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness. The role oversees the Behavioral Crisis Services, coordinating clinical operations and staff development to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited program.
• Licensed in Ohio as LISW or LPCC; Counselor, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapist board approved.
• Post-Master’s experience in a mental health treatment or healthcare setting.
• 4–6 years of clinical experience with children and adolescents, preferably in crisis or inpatient settings.
• Supervision designation preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and clinical skills; demonstrated diagnosis and treatment competency.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct daily operation and clinical care in Behavioral Crisis Services.
• Assist with directing and monitoring care coordination, emergency behavioral health pre-screening, psychosocial assessments, and referral management.
• Support Manager of Crisis Services as a clinical educator to the Behavioral Crisis Services team.
• Contribute to operating and capital budgets and performance appraisals.
• Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement, patient safety, and patient satisfaction; complete leader rounding.

Assists with directing and monitoring care coordination, emergency behavioral health pre-screening, psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and referral management to patients and their families. The Assistant Manager will assist the Manager of Crisis Services as a clinical support and educator to the Behavioral Crisis Services team. Provides input into operating and capital budgets with budget parameters monitored as requested. Performance appraisals for staff are completed annually in conjunction with the Manager of Behavioral Crisis Services. Assists with reviewing, developing, and implementing initiatives to improve employee engagement and satisfaction across the department. Assists staff to proactively identify patient/family needs and/or concerns. Completes leader rounding with patients/families and seeks resolution to any concerns.
