Job summary

UM01 University of Maryland College Park (UMCP) seeks a qualified individual to manage day-to-day maintenance activities within assigned zones. This role requires extensive facilities experience and strong leadership skills to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and a valid Maryland Driver’s license. The salary range is $65,000 - $78,000 with regular exempt benefits available.

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressively responsible experience in trade(s) including three years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Must maintain a valid class C Maryland Driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points.
• Knowledge of building systems and operations requirements.

Job Summary

To provide day-to-day management of all area maintenance activities in assigned zone.

Physical Demands

Work is performed in both an office environment and in the field. Incumbent will be required to perform some hands‑on tasks as well as to inspect the work of others, which will require the ability to work in hazardous or irritating environments, including confined spaces, lifting, bending, stooping, working at heights, and in adverse conditions. Incumbent must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a facilities maintenance, multi‑facility environment desired.
• Ten (10) years progressively responsible experience in the trade(s) where assigned, including at least three (3) years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Must possess and maintain a valid class C Maryland Driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of facilities, operations, construction, or maintenance experience.
• Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
• Knowledge of building systems and building operations requirements.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.

Salary

Regular Salary Range: $65,000 - $78,000.
