Job summary

Stewart's Shops is hiring for an entry-level Assistant Manager in New York. The role focuses on customer service, operations leadership, and staff training to ensure smooth shop performance.

You will lead in the manager's absence, assist customers and partners, and contribute to a positive, fast-paced work environment while promoting Stewart's promotions and maintaining cleanliness and food preparation standards.

Qualifications

• Entry-level management role to develop leadership skills.
• Experience in food service or retail is desirable.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Run the shop in the manager's absence.
• Assist shop partners and customers with questions and concerns.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Stewart's operations, tools and culture.
• Teach others by example and create a positive and fun atmosphere.
• Assist with scheduling and shift requests.
• Prepare foods such as pastries, sandwiches, wraps, hot dogs, burgers, pizza and other Quick & Easy options.
• Make coffee and keep multiple flavor options fresh throughout the day.
• Scoop and serve ice cream.
• Process transactions at the register.
• Stock shelves, cooler and freezer.
• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the shop.
• Be aware of shop promotions and communicate them to customers.

Stewart's Shops is a fast growing convenience store chain in New York and Vermont with friendly store associates and great customers! We are looking for Assistant Managers with flexible schedules to provide excellent customer service in our shops. This is an entry-level management position that can help to develop your leadership skills.

If you have food service or retail experience, this is the opportunity for you.

• Effectively run a shop in the managers absence.
• Assist shop partners and customers with questions and concerns.
• Strong working knowledge of Stewart's operations, tools and culture.
• Teach others by example and create a positive and fun atmosphere.
• Assist with schedule writing and requests.
• Prepare food items such as pastries, sandwiches, wraps, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza and various other Quick & Easy Food On The Go options.
• Make coffee and keep multiple flavor options fresh and available throughout the day.
• Scoop and serve ice cream.
• Process customer transactions through the register.
• Stock shop shelves, as well as the cooler and freezer.
• Maintain standards of cleanliness inside and outside of the shop.
• Be aware of shop promotions and communicate them with customers.

• $19 - $23/hour starting pay based on experience. ESOP & Benefits package.
