What You’ll Do

The Assistant Store Manager oversees responsibilities such as inventory management, associate leadership, and customer engagement. Your strategic decision-making, team cultivation, and operational excellence are critical to our store’s success.

  1. Foster a positive, inclusive work environment promoting teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  2. Oversee inventory, stock replenishment, and merchandise displays to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  3. Make impactful hiring, coaching, performance management, and termination decisions for your team.
  4. Conduct performance reviews, identify development areas, and recognize achievements.
  5. Set clear expectations and hold associates accountable, fostering a culture of accountability.
  6. Champion exceptional customer service through direct engagement, inquiry resolution, and enhancing shopping experiences.
  7. Coach and train associates on customer engagement, contributing to a high-performing team.
  8. Address negative customer experiences by defusing situations and empowering team resolution.
  9. Report regularly to the Store Manager on performance, progress, and feedback.
  10. Ensure store compliance with safety, policies, standards, and legal regulations.
  11. Support company initiatives like the customer engagement model, RK Visa Card, RK Plus Protection Plan, etc.
  12. Supervise firearm transaction procedures, including disposal and compliance audits.
  13. Analyze shrinkage data, identify trends, and implement loss prevention measures.
  14. Lead the team with autonomy, judgment, and discretion to meet or exceed store goals.
  15. Participate in cross-training for departmental flexibility.
  16. Make daily decisions with confidentiality and professionalism.
  17. Engage in training programs, workshops, and webinars for ongoing development.
  18. Provide friendly, professional support internally and externally.

  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum 2 years retail experience or equivalent education and experience.

  • Availability to work a 50-hour week, including varied hours, days, nights, and weekends.
  • Must meet federal and local requirements for obtaining a Federal Firearms License (FFL).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Operate machinery like forklifts, pallet jacks, and inventory devices.
  • Lift, push, or pull at least 30 pounds repeatedly and up to 50 pounds intermittently.
  • Navigate all store facilities effectively.
  • Communicate verbally with others in person and electronically.
  • Close vision for computer tasks.
