ASSISTANT MANAGER/SHIFT LEAD

As an Assistant Manager at Military Deli and Bakery Services, you will have the opportunity to serve our nation's Military personnel and their families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations.

At MDBS, our goal is to demonstrate a love for food and a passion for people while creating an excellent customer service experience for our military customers!

Job Description
  • Assist Deli/Bakery Manager in providing leadership by directing and managing 5-10 employees.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service, meet commissary requirements, and maximize profits.
  • Oversee and enforce Food Safety and Sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Help manage inventories by tracking reports and ordering raw materials and supplies.
  • Assist in scheduling, training employees, and delegating work.
  • Prepare and maintain records concerning inventories and work processes to calculate monthly profit.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment to meet health and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain professional communication with management to meet financial objectives.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and develop improvement processes.
  • Maintain accurate department records for documentation.
  • Monitor employee morale and promote teamwork.
  • Perform duties of staff as required in this hands-on position.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years grocery or food service experience.
  • Previous shift lead/management experience is mandatory.
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Open availability, including weekends and some closing shifts.
  • Food handlers training preferred.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
