The Township of Palmer is looking for a dedicated Assistant Township Manager to support the Township Manager in managing municipal operations and enhancing service delivery to residents. The Township of Palmer is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to serve as Assistant Township Manager. This full-time leadership role supports the Township Manager in the administration and oversight of municipal operations, ensuring the effective delivery of services to our residents.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with daily management of township departments and personnel. Coordinate special projects, strategic planning initiatives, and interdepartmental activities. Oversee budget preparation and financial analysis. Serve as acting Township Manager in their absence. Communicate with residents, businesses, and government agencies.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master’s preferred), or equivalent prior work experience. Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible local government or public sector experience. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Knowledge of municipal government operations and applicable laws.
