Job summary

Cafe Rio in Layton, Utah seeks an energetic Assistant Manager to lead daily restaurant operations and develop a high-performing team. You will manage guest experiences, train staff, and help drive excellence in every service.

This role offers hands-on leadership and growth within a fast-paced, from-scratch kitchen concept. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of restaurant management, a focus on teamwork and communication, and a willingness to work flexible hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience in a restaurant setting.
• Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor restaurant team to deliver high-quality service.
• Oversee everyday operations of a multimillion-dollar cafe Rio location.

Compensation: Competitive salary

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Proof of valid driver’s license
• Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. and stand for 8 plus hrs.
• 2 or more years of management experience, preferably in the restaurant industry managing a team of 15 or more employees at a time, interacting frequently with customers, and coaching employees to assume increasingly challenging roles
• Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays, as well as work weeks that may at times exceed 40 hours
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills; able to easily interact with diverse employees, bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
