  • Retail Store Associates may be eligible to participate in the quarterly sales bonus program. Store bonus payout eligibility is determined by performance to the quarterly sales plan which may be prorated depending on various factors.

Your Role At Tumi

As part of our Retail team, the Assistant Manager is responsible for creating a client experience that reflects our brand ethos while building strong client relationships and driving sales through outstanding service.

The ideal candidate is committed to client service, demonstrating a strong understanding of, if not passion for, the luxury, travel, fashion, and lifestyle markets.

The TUMI retail environment encourages an entrepreneurial spirit, offering growth opportunities as we work together to increase sales, KPI’s, build client awareness, provide world-class service, and grow the brand.

Key Responsibilities
Performance to Goals:
  • Meet and exceed individual and store baseline goals for personal sales and KPI metrics including conversion, DPT, UPT, and Client Data Capture.
Leadership And Initiative
  • Display initiative, plan and prioritize effectively, think strategically, and champion change.
  • Take pride in work and strive for excellence.
  • Take responsibility for performance, complete tasks, and meet deadlines.
People Development
  • Help train others through roleplay and coaching, monitor and assist in training and development, and complete quarterly personal development goals.
  • Provide coaching and feedback, articulate strengths and opportunities, and utilize company tools for a coaching culture.
  • Assist in recruiting and networking to hire high-performing team members and maintain a bench of potential candidates.
Communication And Relationship Building
  • Exercise strong written and verbal skills, adapt communication, demonstrate ethical conduct, promote organizational goals, and collaborate effectively.
  • Remain calm and deescalate situations when necessary.
Compliance
  • Assist with managing store schedule, timecards, payroll, and maintain Tumi University Training.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Visual Merchandising/Client Experience
  • Ensure store follows visual guidelines and directives, and promote excellent client service using client books, thank you cards, and event strategies.
Qualifications
  • Understand and have passion for the TUMI brand and products.
  • Value collaboration and openness to feedback.
  • Physical ability to stand, move around, lift, push boxes up to 30 pounds, and use a ladder.
  • Strong sales and client experience, preferably in luxury retail.
  • Proven success in meeting sales goals and KPIs.
  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, mornings, and holidays.
  • Strong integrity and leadership by example.
  • Excellent time management skills.
