Job summary

Woodford Lumber & Home in Clear Lake, Iowa is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team. This role blends sales, estimating, customer projects, product selection, inventory, purchasing, and day-to-day operations with a hands-on leadership approach.

You will work directly with contractors and homeowners to understand needs, develop estimates, prepare material take-offs, provide quotes, and help keep margins healthy while mentoring staff and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in lumber, building materials, construction, or a related industry.
• Ability to read plans/blueprints and develop material take-offs and estimates.
• Strong communication, listening, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with willingness to learn and grow into greater responsibility.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do
