Tessera is seeking an Assistant Manager at the Blackstone, Virginia FASTC location to oversee overall shop operations, including production, quality, HAZMAT compliance, and safety. You will serve as Acting Site Manager in the manager’s absence and drive performance in a high-OPTEMPO environment.
Lead technicians, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure adherence to Tessera’s core values while supporting AbilityOne and SourceAmerica programs.

Compensation: $106,000.00 to $116,000.00

Assistant Manager performs initial planning on each mission to determine resources required. Directly responsible for the overall shop operations, which includes production, quality, HAZMAT compliance, shop safety, and addressing personnel issues. Also, will be the Acting Site Manager in the absence of the Site Manager. Core Leadership Responsibilities: Develop a strong understanding of AbilityOne and SourceAmerica programs. Uphold and embody Tessera's core values. Align team goals with Tessera's value proposition, ensuring highly engaged employees contribute to customer satisfaction. Identify and mitigate safety hazards on job sites through effective risk controls and utilize Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA). Conduct root cause analyses to promote a safe working environment and maintain adherence to Tessera's Accident Reporting process. Foster positive client interactions using effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating respect, empathy, and responsiveness.
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, standing, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required. Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
