Summary
The Assistant Manager supports the Assistant General Manager & General Manager in the daily responsibilities required to keep the business running smoothly. The Assistant Manager directs employees and ensures that work is being completed in a timely and effective manner.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that Shift Leaders and Team Members perform their responsibilities and meet expectations in all areas of their job.
  2. Follow the steps outlined in the DHC Training Program to learn and train new skills, duties, and responsibilities.
  3. Communicate with supervisors when additional training or guidance is needed.
  4. Conduct and ensure completion of Ops Walks and Q&A checks to address areas of opportunity.
  5. Organize shift schedules, monitor attendance, tardiness, and time off.
  6. Assign duties based on role and skills.
  7. Understand how each responsibility impacts guests, employees, and restaurant operations.
  8. Ensure restaurant cleanliness through daily tasks like clearing tables, cleaning floors, sanitizing utensils, and servicing restrooms.
  9. Handle guest concerns professionally and calmly, resolving issues per restaurant policy.
  10. Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to uniform policies.
  11. Drive performance and team morale by providing supervision, feedback, and addressing performance issues.
  12. Train, schedule, and manage employees’ daily tasks.
  13. Balance cash drawers and prepare deposits as directed.
  14. Assist the management team as needed and enforce company rules and policies.
  15. Support the restaurant’s business plan by effectively planning and organizing daily routines.
  16. Complete administrative duties and paperwork, including checklists.
  17. Supervise opening and closing activities as directed.
  18. Foster an environment of trust and open communication.
  19. Model positive behavior and uphold personnel practices.
  20. Follow food and cash control guidelines to minimize costs.
  21. Ensure all team members adhere to policies and support management decisions.
  22. Contribute to the restaurant’s success by consistently accomplishing shift tasks.
  23. Communicate effectively to resolve interpersonal issues.

Requirements

  • Current student or high school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and fluent in English.
  • Certified in all stations following the DHC Training Program.
  • Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Effective communication skills with co-workers and management.
  • Reliable transportation, driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including opening and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs., stand for long periods, and work around heat and in close quarters.
