Movie Tavern in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Summer Assistant Manager to help oversee front-of-house operations, guest services, and daily theater duties during peak weekends and nights.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with hospitality or restaurant management experience, ready to coach staff, manage guest concerns, and drive sales with promotions.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality or management preferred.

  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to stand and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing front-of-house operations including guest services and concessions.

About the Role

Movie Tavern is looking for a motivated, guest-focused Front of House Assistant Manager to help lead daily operations and deliver an outstanding entertainment and dining experience. This role supports the Front of House Manager in overseeing guest services, team performance, and operational efficiency while maintaining a positive, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with hospitality or restaurant management experience who thrives in a high-energy setting and enjoys creating memorable guest experiences. Previous theater and/or Aloha POS experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing all front-of-house operations, including guest services, ushers, box office, concessions, and bar/dining service
  • Lead, coach, and motivate front-of-house team members to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and training of staff
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards are maintained throughout the theater
  • Monitor labor costs, staffing levels, and daily operational performance
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and alcohol service guidelines
  • Assist with inventory, cash handling, and end-of-shift reporting
  • Work closely with kitchen and theater management teams to ensure smooth operations during peak business hours
  • Help drive sales through upselling, promotions, and creating a welcoming guest atmosphere
Qualifications
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, or retail environments preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Food Handler or TABC certification preferred (if applicable)
