Salary Range: $15.00 - $22.00 Hourly.

Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) provides additional management coverage during operating hours and direct supervision of a Taco Bell unit. Like the Restaurant General Manager, the AGM is accountable for the organized, efficient and profitable operation of the restaurant by achieving and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hospitality, accuracy, building maintenance, product quality and speed of service. The AGM performs hands‑on operational work, trains employees, responds to guest service needs, and role‑models appropriate skills and behaviors.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and accurately take their orders.
  • Prepare and package food and drink products according to restaurant standards.
  • Operate cash registers, process payments, and provide change to guests.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant including back of house, lobby, and restrooms.
  • Assist with food prep and dishwashing as needed.
  • Restock inventory and supplies.
  • Manage shifts to ensure fair employee treatment and compliance with workplace laws and regulations.
  • Offer ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Find, hire, and develop Taco Bell employees and guide new team members during onboarding.
  • Assist with safety concerns in the workplace.
  • Report serious issues to manager and HR as needed.
  • Conduct food safety and prep audits daily.
  • Conduct daily inventory monitoring and share responsibility for cash procedures.
  • Assist with schedule creation and deploy the team correctly.
  • Monitor speed of service and resolve bottlenecks to achieve goals.
  • Monitor inventory and food preparation daily to adhere to company standards.
  • Responsible for daily inventory, deliveries, restaurant opening and closing, and daily adjustments to shift staffing and crew deployment.
  • Analyze sales, labor, inventory and controllable expenses continually and take corrective action to meet or achieve margins and sales targets.
  • Maintain day‑to‑day responsibility for cash procedures such as bank deposits, making change, opening and closing the safe, and audits. Assist the RGM to maintain proper time‑keeping and payroll procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old or older.
  • Strong preference for an internal candidate who has completed all required training and certifications.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Possess a minimum of 6 months in a shift management or supervisory role, preferably in a service‑related business.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
  • Open availability and ability to work flexible hours and all shifts as needed.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly with a can‑do attitude.
  • Comes to work with good hygiene.
  • Has reliable transportation and can arrive to work on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain financial controls and coach and train employees.
  • A positive, friendly, and courteous attitude.
