Job summary

Orwell Housing Association Ltd is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team. You will support management accounts, forecasting and budgeting, providing accurate and timely financial information to inform business decisions.

You will work with colleagues across the organisation, maintain accruals and prepayments, assist with year-end processes and monthly reconciliations, and help deliver reliable management accounts to deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Has previous experience working within a finance environment.
  • Possesses basic book-keeping knowledge.
  • Has knowledge of Housing Association finance.
  • Is confident using Excel and financial systems.
  • Can produce highly accurate work with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Is competent in basic report writing and written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Support budget managers in understanding and managing their budgets.
  • Maintain allocated accruals and prepayments schedules.
  • Support the year-end statutory accounts process.
  • Assist with monthly management account reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts to meet deadlines.
  • Respond promptly to management accounts queries.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent (grades A-C / 9-4) - essential.
  • Working towards or willingness to work towards AAT qualification is desirable unless an equivalent qualification has been obtained or qualified by experience.
