Job summary

Touro Property Management LLC in Dallas is seeking a hands-on Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to support the Maintenance Supervisor in keeping apartment homes safe, functional, and well-maintained.

You will coordinate work orders, mentor a maintenance team, oversee turnovers, work with vendors, and ensure safety standards while delivering reliable service to residents.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • EPA Certification is required/preferred.
  • Prior apartment or facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Trade school or vocational training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating and prioritizing maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
  • Perform skilled tasks in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliances, carpentry, and general upkeep.
  • Assist with scheduling, training, and supervising maintenance team members.
  • Provide direction and support in the Maintenance Supervisor’s absence.
  • Help prepare vacant apartments for move-ins, completing punch lists and repairs.
  • Work with contractors and vendors for larger projects and ensure safety and code compliance.

Touro Property Management is seeking a hands‑on, dependable Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to help lead our property’s maintenance operations. This role supports the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring safe, functional, and well‑maintained apartment homes. If you're technically skilled, safety-minded, and team‑oriented, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance Operations & Repairs
    • Assist in coordinating and prioritizing work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
    • Perform skilled tasks in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliances, carpentry, and general property upkeep.
    • Troubleshoot issues and complete repairs efficiently to maintain resident satisfaction.
  • Team Support & Leadership
    • Assist with scheduling, training, and supervising maintenance team members.
    • Promote a collaborative, productive, and safety-focused work environment.
    • Provide direction and support in the Maintenance Supervisor’s absence.
  • Unit Turnovers
    • Help prepare vacant apartments for move-ins, ensuring units are clean, repaired, and market‑ready.
    • Address punch list items including painting, flooring, appliance replacement, and fixture repairs.
  • Vendor & Compliance Oversight
    • Work with contractors and vendors to complete larger projects and specialty repairs.
    • Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with safety protocols and building codes.
  • Inventory & Documentation
    • Assist in managing inventory of supplies and tools; reorder items as necessary.
    • Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, and supply usage.
  • Emergency & After‑Hours Response
    • Respond promptly to on‑call or after‑hours emergencies as needed.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve urgent issues with minimal disruption to residents.
Key Qualities:
  • Skilled in general maintenance with knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to coach and guide a team.
  • Reliable, detail‑oriented, and committed to safety and service excellence.
  • Good communication and organization skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Must be EPA Certified.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade school or vocational training in maintenance or building systems is a plus.
  • Prior experience in apartment or facility maintenance preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Regular lifting of tools and materials up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs (with assistance).
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Visual and auditory abilities to identify issues and communicate effectively in‑person and via phone/radio.
Schedule & Travel:
  • May include weekday, evening, and weekend shifts.
  • Participation in on‑call rotation required.
  • Occasional travel to nearby properties or training events may be needed.
