Job Title: Assistant Maintenance Manager
Department: Maintenance & Engineering
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Direct Reports: 3 Maintenance Supervisors

Salary Range: $95,100.00 To $123,600.00 Annually

Position Summary:

TheAssistant Engineering & Maintenance Manager is responsible to research, create and/or develop engineering solutions to improve operational efficiency and productivity through the implementation of engineering projects targeting:

  • Mechanization operators’ routine-tasks
  • Identifying, developing, and implementing good engineering and operational practices
  • Implement projects to improve operational efficiency

Position is responsible to support engineering and maintenance functions of the enterprise by training, coaching or acting as chief engineer and/or maintenance manager or project manager in any of the manufacturing sites located across the country.

Key Job Responsibilities:
CAPEX
  • Oversight of Bimbo QSR Denver annual CAPEX plan.
  • Assist in developing of business cases to implement capital projects for productivity and waste reduction
  • Assist in oversight of the CAPEX plan to ensure successful completion of projects within critical timelines. Also includes regular updates to forecasted spend of CAPEX projects.
Process Engineering
  • Identify new technologies and process/system improvements to increase efficiencies and return on investment.
  • Industry shows, tech sessions, and vendor relationship development.
  • Evaluation of current process & procedures to identify improvements, projects, and plans to increase system efficiencies.
  • Assist in defining standardized Operational Procedures for operating equipment
  • Assist in departmental KPI reviews, process evaluations and analysis.
  • Assist in the management of large scale equipment installations and building.
  • Assist in management of all environmental policies/requirements to ensure compliance of data management, record keeping, permit filing, policy updates and training.
  • Interactions with all required government agencies & contractors to ensure successful audits and compliance.
Sustainability
  • Assist in the oversight of all sustainability projects, policies, & requirements to ensure compliance of data management, record keeping, polices and training.
  • Assist in management of annual sustainability driven projects to reduce utility usage/cost & environmental footprint.
R&D
  • Support research for engineering solutions both inside and outside the baking industry to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
Maintenance Department Management
  • Department Budgets
  • Management of plant expense and CAPEX budgets.
  • Facility, Process & Support Equipment Maintenance
  • Oversight of plant maintenance department to ensure proper facility and equipment maintenance, programs, policies & regulatory requirements.
  • Program best practices and policies.
  • Maintenance Development & Training
  • Continued development of Maintenance team
  • Departmental compliance training
  • Leadership skills to involve, engage & develop engineering and maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure that engineering and maintenance procedures are completed in line with company policies and standards.
  • Subject to noise requiring hearing protection in designated areas.
  • Worker subject to hazards such as proximity to moving parts, electrical current, and moving objects carrying considerable weight and force.
  • Capable of working in environment of flour dust.
  • Work requires the ability to read, write and communicate in English in order to understand and follow work and safety instructions. Must be able to perform basic arithmetic to include adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
Education and Work History:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years or a combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English.
