TMS International is the leading provider of on-site, industrial steel mill services. Axis, Alabama site seeks an Assistant Maintenance Manager to lead a 220-person team and oversee day-to-day maintenance operations.

You will plan repairs, coordinate schedules, and ensure safe, reliable equipment to meet customer needs. The role demands strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic expertise, the ability to read schematics, and a track record in cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years in scrap/metal or off-highway equipment experience.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic background.
• Able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• BA/BS degree preferred; combination with experience acceptable.
• Independent and cross-functional teamwork and clear communication.

Our site located in Axis, Alabama is searching for an Assistant Maintenance Manager. This individual will be a vital member of the 220 person team and would have a hand in managing all aspects of the day to day operations

Assistant Maintenance Manager Responsibilities

• Work with Maintenance Manager and Operations to plan maintenance repairs necessary to provide safe, reliable equipment to meet and exceed customer's needs.
• Assist in managing up to 35 maintenance mechanics staff required to maintain a variety of steel mill servicing equipment.
• Must be able to schedule mechanics in a 24/7 operation.
• Schedule, plan, and ensure compliance with Corporate mandated Preventive Maintenance program.
• Must be knowledgeable cost associated with maintaining equipment.
• Adhere to Corporate maintenance policies, and provide maintenance staff with the tools and education to achieve this goal.
• Assist Maintenance Manager in coordinating and managing Capital Improvement Projects.
• Work within and understand a budget

Assistant Maintenance Manager Qualifications

• Preference will be given for 7+ years of experience within the scrap/metal industry, or with off-highway equipment.
• Ideal candidate must have strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic background.
• Candidate should be able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Preference will be given to BA/BS degree as well as a combination of experience/education.
• The candidate must also have the ability to function both effectively and independently as a member of a cross-functional team demonstrating teamwork and communication skills with a commitment to cooperation and collaboration among business functions.
• Should be proficient with Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint, Excel and Word as well as ERP software. * Candidate
