Job summary

Buck Services, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Assistant in the Joliet/West Chicago area to keep client facilities safe and functional. You will perform maintenance tasks, run safety checks, and work with clients to address requests while coordinating with contractors.

Requirements include basic mechanical/electrical/plumbing knowledge, hands-on repair experience, and a valid driver’s license. Expect a 40-hour week, some overtime possible, and a competitive hourly pay rate of $21–$23.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Hands-on repair experience (maintenance, electrical, furniture assembly, or similar).
• Ability to read safety rules and write simple reports.
• Fluency in English.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Handle general maintenance: light bulbs, outlets, switches, and minor plumbing repairs.
• Run routine safety checks on fire alarms, extinguishers, and other safety equipment.
• Work directly with client on maintenance requests.
• Coordinate with outside contractors on scheduling and planning.

• Respond to occasional after-hours emergency calls.
